Peninnah Schram, professor of speech and drama at Stern College for Women, had one of her stories, "A Blessing in Disguise," included in a new anthology, Holiday Stories All Year Round: Audience Participation Stories and More, edited by Violet Teresa deBarba Miller (Libraries Unlimited, 2008). The story had been originally published in Schram's book, Tales of Elijah the Prophet. A number of faculty from Wurzweiler School of Social Work published papers in the Journal of Jewish Communal Service, 83 (2/3) in 2008, which was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the school. Saul Andron, associate professor and director of the Certificate in Jewish Communal Services program, wrote about “Public vs. private Jewish philanthropy: The role of the professional in an era of change”; Susan Bendor, associate professor, “Strong at the broken places: Diverse voices from the second generation”; Shantih Clemans, associate professor, “Trauma and group work: Thoughts on delicate practice”; Lynn Levy, instructor, “Including gay and lesbian couples in a premarital educational program in reform congregations”; Norman Linzer, the Samuel J. and Jean Sable Professor of Jewish Family Social Work, “’The lonely man of faith’: Implications for social work practice”; Frederick J. Streets, the Carl and Dorothy Bennet Professor of Pastoral Counseling, “Religion and social work: Dilemmas and challenges in practice” and “The value of a social work education for the religious professional” (co-written with P. Brumbacher, T.E. Taylor, & M. Bleich).

Rabbi Benjamin Blech, assistant professor of Talmud, had two articles included in “The Top Ten Articles of 2007” on the aish.com Website: “The Secret Revealed” and “A Flawed Mighty Heart.” The articles were selected by the site’s editors as the most popular articles of the year. Rabbi Blech published a total of eight articles on aish.com in 2007.
