Gabriel Cwilich Finds Unusual Application of His Science

Dr. Gabriel A. Cwilich, associate professor of physics at Yeshiva College, recently served as the science advisor for two theater shows at the Ensemble Studio Theater: End Days written by Deb Laufer and directed by Lisa Peterson and Emily Levine at the Edge of Chaos, a one-woman show starring Los Angleles comedian-philosopher Emily Levine.

Ferkauf Dean Elected Head of Psychology Schools Council

Dr. Lawrence J. Siegel, dean and professor at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, was elected president of the National Council of Schools and Programs of Professional Psychology on May 6. The council, which is represented at meetings of the APA (American Psychological Association), is consulted on all matters relating to the training of professional psychologists.

Joshua Karlip Awarded Harvard Fellowship

Dr. Joshua Karlip, assistant professor of Jewish history at Yeshiva College, received the Harry Starr Fellowship in Judaica at the Center for Jewish Studies at Harvard University. Karlip will spend the entire academic year of 2009-2010 engaged in the research fellowship, whose theme this year is Jewish Political Tradition.
