Rabbi Goldin's New Book Unlocks Text of Leviticus

With its laws and instruction on ritual impurity, sacrifices and priestly duties, the book of Vayikra (Leviticus) is notorious for being the hardest in the Torah (Five Books of Moses) to appreciate. Rabbi Shmuel Goldin, instructor of Bible and Philosophy at the Isaac Breuer College and the James Striar School of Yeshiva University, hopes to make it a little easier with his new book Unlocking the Torah Text: An In-Depth Journey into the Weekly Parsha – Vayikra (OU Press). With linguistic and moral clarity, Rabbi Goldin takes readers on a journey where different scholars offer competing perspectives, ending with practical lessons that can be derived from these esoteric concepts. This is the third volume in a widely acclaimed series of books that is creatively designed to help readers explore the Torah through its traditional interpretations.
