Fine Selected for Getty Research Institute Scholars Program

Fine_59329c-35Dr. Steven Fine, professor of Jewish history at Yeshiva University's Bernard Revel Graduate School of Jewish Studies, has been selected to participate in the Getty Research Institute's Scholars Program, which brings cultural scholars and artists from around the world to live and work in Los Angeles while conducting rigorous research under an annual theme. This year's theme, "Object--Value--Canon," explores the way traditional art historical methodologies can be challenged and reinvented. Fine's research centers on cultural history, visual culture, Roman history and Jewish history. His project title is, "The Arch of Titus: From Roman Triumphal Arc to Lieu de Memoire and Post-Colonial Icon."
