Itzkowitz Publishes Article in Journal of Behavioral Finance

jesse itzkowitzDr. Jesse Itzkowitz, assistant professor of marketing at Yeshiva University's Sy Syms School of Business, will publish an article in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Behavioral Finance. Titled "Name-Based Behavioral Biases: Are Expert Investors Immune?", the paper examines differences in trading between novice individual investors and institutional investors, building on Itzkowitz's prior research, which showed that novice investors were influenced by name-based heuristics, including alphabetical ordering, when making trades, which led to irrational decisions. In this article, Itzkowitz and his co-author and wife, Jennifer Itzkowitz, demonstrate that compared to novice investors, experts are relatively immune to those influences.
