Beliavsky Produces Documentary on Composer David Del Tredici

Dr. Daniel Beliavsky, visiting associate professor and chair of the Fine Art and Music Department, has produced a documentary on composer David Del Tredici, who turned 80 in 2017. Del Tredici is known in American music history as a founder of what is called the “neoromantic movement” in American music, a return to what some musicians and composers have identified as the emotional expression associated with 19th-century romantic music. Beliavsky said that “the film is about the impact and meaning of his music, especially his more recent output, in both larger and more personal, introspective ways.” He has posted a preview clip on YouTube. Beliavsky was also featured in a video about eye-tracking technology that proved popular this year. You can see the video here.
