Even Mild Mental Health Problems Linked to Reduced Life Expectancy

People with mental health problems have a lower life expectancy, according to a new study.  The study of English households finds that people who experience symptoms of psychological distress like anxiety, depression, or even minor mental health problems, have a lower life expectancy than people who do not.  The research suggested low level distress raised the risk by 16%, once lifestyle factors such as drinking and smoking were taken into account.
