Juniors and Parents Enjoy College Night

by Ari Englander ('17) f2b5aea0-ba84-42f4-956d-e6eac6f26039 On Tuesday night, Juniors and their parents had the opportunity to attend MTA's annual College Night, at which representatives of several colleges were present to discuss their respective schools with the students and answer any questions that they had. The program was held in Furst Hall's Room 501 auditorium and featured opening remarks by Rabbi Taubes, an introduction about the MTA College Guidance Department by Rabbi Brownstein, and an introduction to the college application process by Mr. Sragow. Next, Mr. Jonathan Schwalb, Associate Director of University Housing and Residence Life at YU, former Admissions Counselor, and founder of The College Edge, gave a very informative presentation entitled, "Why and How to Write a Killer Essay." For the next hour, students and parents were able to peruse the various booths of represented colleges, asking questions and learning information about each one. The colleges that were represented included University of Chicago, Columbia University, John Jay, Kingsborough, Maryland, Princeton, Queens College, University of Tel Aviv, YU, and YU Honors. We'd like to thank Mr. Sragow and Rabbi Brownstein for the time and effort they put into organizing this important event.
