Alumni Shabbaton Takes Place in New Rochelle

0b1f04a4-cec1-4ddd-b836-37a7cf4bcacc Last Shabbos, Parshas Vayigash, Rabbi Kahn, Rabbi Axelrod (who serves as the Assistant Rabbi of the Young Israel of New Rochelle) and Shuey Jacoby headed to New Rochelle to spend Shabbos with alumni from the community and some of their friends that joined. Rabbi Kahn addressed the community on Friday night and again after Mincha when he presented on "Transmitting Our Torah Values to Children." Rabbi Axelrod spoke at the main minyan on Shabbos day and Shuey spoke to the teen minyan. On Friday night, the young alumni ate with Rabbi Kahn, Shuey and the Axelrod family at the Axelrod's home. After this, a special oneg took place and the group was joined by alumni of all ages. The group then trecked through the snow to convene again for Shalosh Seudos at the Young Israel, joined by some of the teens and middle school students from the community. Jordan Auerbach ('12) who helped inspire the idea commented, "We loved the chance to have this special alumni Shabbos and to spend time getting to know Rabbi Kahn." We very much thank the New Rochelle community for their warm reception!
