Snow Doesn't Keep Away MTA Torah

Despite the "Snow Day" on Thursday, the fire of Torah was burning brightly and warming the hearts and minds of our talmidim. While everyone enjoys the occasional snow day off to rest and relax, our dedicated Rabbeim were available to make sure that every talmid had the ability to learn Torah even when everyone is stuck at home. Throughout the morning, every single shiur had an opportunity to learn with their Rebbe. More than half of the yeshiva spent time Thursday morning during the snowstorm learning Gemara, Parsha Hashavua or about Tu B'shvat via conference call or video conference. Learning on a day like Thursday brings to mind the famous posuk in Yirmiah (33:25), כֹּה אָמַר ה' אִם לֹא בְרִיתִי יוֹמָם וָלָיְלָה חֻקּוֹת שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ לֹא שָׂמְתִּי., thus said HaShem: If My covenant with the night and with the day would not be; had I not set up the laws of heaven and earth. The Gemara (Pesachim 68b) understands that this verse means that if not for the Jewish People engaging in Torah study, the world would not have reason to be in existence. On a snow day when there is so much Torah not being learnt by thousands of students that are sitting home, the Torah that our Rabbeim and talmidim learned went a long way to keeping the world spinning.
