Varsity Hockey Loses to TABC in Nail-Biter Playoff Game

by Jonathan Felman ('18) The Varsity Hockey MTA Lions faced off against the TABC Storm in the first round of the playoffs this past Tuesday night. MTA brought a fan bus, and the fans really did their job. With the Makor Chaim kids in attendance as well, the TABC gym was extremely loud. The Lions and Storm played the first period competitively, and returned to the locker room tied 0-0. In the second period, Zach Borgen ('17) scored from behind half court to put the Lions up 1-0. Shortly thereafter, the Storm tied it up and the second period concluded with the score 1-1. About 5 minutes into the third, and final, period, TABC scored two quick goals to take a 3-1 lead. After a late game push, the Lions fell to the Storm 3-2, although MTA's goalie Max Herskowitz ('17) played incredibly throughout the entire game. While this signals an end to the Varsity Hockey season, both the MTA Varsity and JV Basketball teams are competing in their respective playoffs for a chance to bring a trophy back to MTA.
