YU Men’s Basketball Coach Jonathan Halpert Brings a ‘Family’ Approach to a Transient Business; 15 Seasons Without a Losing Record

The New York-area men’s college basketball coaching scene this year might best be described as a giant game of whack-a-mole. Tom Pecora vanished from Hofstra only to pop up again at Fordham. Iona’s Kevin Willard left for Seton Hall while former Seton Hall star Dan Hurley took the Wagner job. And so it goes, and goes. All told, at least nine coaches are patrolling a new sideline this season.
