Cardozo Alumnus Pauld D. Brusiloff Elected to Law School's Board of Directors

Oct 5, 2004 -- Paul D. Brusiloff was elected a member of Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law Board of Directors at a meeting held in early September. Mr. Brusiloff, a partner with Debevoise & Plimpton LLP, is a 1991 summa cum laude graduate of the Law School, where he served as editor in chief of the Cardozo Law Review. "Cardozo gave me a strong foundation," Mr. Brusiloff said. "I look forward to seeing Cardozo continue its tradition of providing the highest quality legal education, and I'm honored and excited about the opportunity to work with my fellow board members and with the law school's outstanding faculty to help see that the law school continues to flourish." Mr. Brusiloff is the 11th Cardozo graduate to join the Law School’s board and Dean David Rudenstine said, “Paul will bring to the Board energy, enthusiasm, and good judgment.” Following graduation from Cardozo, Mr. Brusiloff served for two years as a law clerk to the Hon. Carol Los Mansmann, US Court of Appeals, Third Circuit. He joined the New York office of Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in 1993, where he is a member of the firm’s securities and finance practice groups within the corporate department. Mr. Brusiloff has developed a broad practice in corporate finance and securities offerings, including debt and equity financing, and recapitalization and restructuring transactions. His practice has also included equipment finance work and aviation matters. After earning a B.A. from Harvard University in 1986, where he was active in music and theater, Mr. Brusiloff was a freelance musician, composer, and was an artist-in-residence at Harvard from 1986 to 1987. At the same meeting, the following Cardozo Board directors were re-elected, for a term to expire June 2006: Ronnie Heyman, Stephen Judlowe, Nate Kacew, Thomas H. Lee, Mark S. Lieberman, Jeffrey H. Loria, Barry A. Shenkman, Stephen B. Siegel, Stephen A. Weiss, and Sheldon H. Solow. Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law is well known for its prolific and high-profile faculty as well as top-ranked programs in intellectual property, alternative dispute resolution, corporate and criminal law, entertainment and communications law, legal theory, and Jewish law. The law school’s clinical program has been cited as one of the best in the country. Cardozo has graduated more than 8,000 students since its founding in 1976.
