Yeshiva University Introduces YU Mobile App

Yeshiva University recently released YU Mobile, a new mobile app that enables users to do everything from planning their courses for the semester to browsing the YU Library catalog to finding campus locations through the map portal, all on the go. yu mobile app image The free app, currently available for iPhone, iPod Touch and Android and coming soon to all other mobile devices, offers up-to-date news and information about all aspects of the University. In addition to the course and library catalogs and map function, users will be able to access YU’s event calendar to view information about everything happening on campus, from student events to public lectures and holiday celebrations, including venue details and tools to save the event to their personal calendar. An “Athletics” module features news, schedules and photos for all YU sports teams, while “Links” takes users to YU’s social media channels and resources from the Department of Student Life, YUTorah.org, and the Center for the Jewish Future, among others. Other features include a “Help” utility, which offers security information and other useful tips; “Video” and “Images” modules, where users can view fun or important highlights from YU events or around campus, as well as special announcements; and a “News” module offering the latest information about schools, faculty and student activities. “It’s no longer news that people are getting more content from their mobile devices than ever before,” said Judy Tashji, creative director at YU’s Department of Communications and Public Affairs. “All of us—especially our students—live with our smart phones. We wanted to give the YU community a useful tool that connects us to Yeshiva University anytime, anywhere.” To download the YU Mobile app, visit the iTunes Store or Google Play.
