More Than 15,000 Judaic Books and CD’s on Offer in February at SOY Seforim Sale

Feb 10, 2008 -- Yeshiva University’s highly anticipated annual SOY (Student Organization of Yeshiva) Seforim Sale will take place from Sunday, February 3 to Sunday, February 24 in Belfer Hall, 2495 Amsterdam Avenue, on YU’s Wilf Campus in Manhattan. In recent years the acclaimed Judaica book sale has drawn more than 15,000 people from the tri-state area. Students, families, educators, and rabbinic scholars flock to the sale to take advantage of discounted prices on the latest rabbinic and academic texts, as well as cookbooks, children’s books, musical recordings, and educational software. The sale is open to the general public. Books and CD’s can also be ordered online. The sale is managed exclusively by YU students who oversee the entire operation, from ordering products and setting up the premises, to marketing and technological support. Proceeds fund SOY’s myriad initiatives, which include student activities on campus and outreach programs in the Jewish community. The seforim sale has become a highlight for the YU community, as students and alumni congregate to visit their alma mater, see old friends, and add books to their personal libraries. An alumni-only night will take place Tuesday, February 5 from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Chef, restaurateur, and author Levana Kirschenbaum will sign copies of her books on Sunday, February 10 from 3 pm to 6 pm. Each Sunday morning the Kollel Yom Rishon program for men and Midreshet Yom Rishon program for women will take place as usual. Schedules for the men's program are available here and for the women, here. For a complete listing of dates and times and to view the catalog, visit www.soyseforim.org
