YU Names New Communications Director

Paul Oestreicher Appointed Executive Director of Communications and Public Affairs Paul Oestreicher, PhD has been appointed executive director of Yeshiva University’s Department of Communications and Public Affairs. Oestreicher, an accomplished strategic communications practitioner, educator, researcher, and author, succeeds Michael Scagnoli.

“Paul will direct our communications staff that functions as an in-house agency, and the Communications Office at Cardozo School of Law, and will also liaise with the Office of Communications at Albert Einstein College of Medicine to ensure proper coordination of efforts,” said Senior Vice President Josh Joseph. “He will also manage the University’s brand and messaging.” Oestreicher has held senior executive positions in public relations and public affairs at several corporations and agencies, and was one of the early architects of global communication planning, direct-to-consumer communications, and third-party alliance building. Most recently, he consulted in corporate and marketing communications, PR planning, risk/issues/reputation management, messaging/positioning, and PR research and served as adjunct professor and thesis adviser at New York University. He is also the author of Camelot, Inc.: Leadership and Management Insights from King Arthur and the Round Table.
