YU’s Sy Syms School of Business Welcomes David Chubak as the New Chair of its Board of Overseers

The Sy Syms School of Business is excited to announce David Chubak (resume, LinkedIn profile) as the new Chair of the Board of Overseers of the Sy Syms School of Business at Yeshiva University. With an impressive professional background and a passion for Sy Syms’ unique “Torah U’Business” education, Chubak is poised to help lead the school into a new era of excellence. Dr. Noam Wasserman, Dean of the Sy Syms School of Business, expressed his enthusiasm for Chubak's appointment, stating, "We are thrilled to welcome David Chubak as our new Chair. During his two years as a Board member, he has become a key partner in many of our new initiatives, and I look forward to deepening our partnership now that he is Chair. Chubak, reflecting on his new role, shared, “It is a humbling privilege to be named Chairman of the Sy Syms Board of Overseers and serve along an incredible group of passionate community leaders committed to reinforcing the foundations of higher education and creating the business leaders and innovators of tomorrow.  With its terrific leadership, administration and faculty, Sy Syms is an incredible growth story in the making – fusing the powerful value of undergraduate and graduate business education with enduring values built on the power of faith and ethics.  I look forward to building on the school's incredible 36-year track record and seeing its impact expand to new heights.” Chubak brings a wealth of experience in the corporate world to his new role as the Chair. He is currently the Head of Wealth Management at Edward Jones, where his deep understanding of the financial industry and his strategic vision have earned him a reputation as a transformative leader. He has previously held key leadership roles at Citigroup (Citi), including CEO of Citi Retail Services and CEO of US Retail Banking. Before his time at Citi, Chubak was a Partner at McKinsey, where he honed his skills in management and strategy. A husband of a Sy Syms graduate, Chubak's commitment to education and his keen insights into the ever-evolving business landscape make him an ideal candidate to help steer the Sy Syms School of Business into a future of great promise. His own educational background includes a JD from NYU School of Law and a BA from Columbia University. “We are very excited and honored that David Chubak will chair our Board of Overseers,” said Michael Strauss, Associate Dean of the Sy Syms School of Business. “His extensive experience and background in senior level positions in the corporate world, coupled with his strong leadership skills and passion for Sy Syms, will allow him to serve as a great leader and role model for the rest of the Board, as well as for our students.” Marcy Syms, long-time member of the Sy Syms Board of Overseers and a member of its Nominating and Governance Committee, emphasized the importance of Chubak's appointment in continuing the school's legacy of excellence and values.
