In the most recent issue of the journal Hakirah, Heshy Zelcer, who is on the editorial board, published an article entitled “Shemoneh Esreh in Eretz Yisrael ca. 220-250 C.E.”  He sent a copy of the journal to Prof. Elazar Hurvitz, who had not known about the project, because of the dedication, which reads as follows:  “This article is dedicated to Prof. Elazar Hurvitz, who instilled in me an appreciation for Hebrew manuscripts and genizah fragments.”  The impact of our professors endures even in circles of which they are unaware.
