Recordings from the Revel Kollel/Midreshet Yom Rishon - 1/03/16

KYR FB event On Sunday, January 3rd, Revel and the Center for the Jewish Future jointly presented a morning dedicated to “Celebrating Jewish Scholarship.” The program consisted of a Kollel Yom Rishon offered to men, with sessions led by Dr. Mordechai Cohen, Professor of Bible and Associate Dean of Revel, on “Ramban, Kabbalah, and the Structure of Sefer Shemot” and Dr. Daniel Rynhold, Associate Professor of Modern Jewish Philosophy and Director of the Revel PhD Program, on “Rav Kook: Revisiting the Religion-Science Conflict.” The women, in Midreshet Yom Rishon, learned with Dr. Stuart Halpern, Assistant Director of Student Programming and Community Outreach at Revel,  about “Angels and Demons: The Exodus, the Akedah and a Pre-Rabbinic Midrash” and Mrs. Shira Schiowitz (‘14BR) about “The Peculiar Circumcision of Moshe’s Son.” The event, attended by close to 100, allowed the community to engage with Revel faculty, administration, and alumni, and find out more information about the diverse array of courses offered by Revel’s MA and PhD programs.
