Gabi Weinberg, 23, is a senior in Yeshiva College, majoring in English and minoring in both Economics and Writing. First introduced to the Straus Center as a student in an Honors course given by Rabbi Meir Soloveichik on Judaism and Democracy, Gabi’s subsequent involvement with the Straus Center and interest in Jewish leadership helped motivate him to attain the position of President of SOY-JSC (an elected student government position), and to run a year full of successful of religious and educational programs during the academic year 2012-2013. Gabi assisted Rabbi Soloveichik in arranging weekly lunches with students in which they discussed the interplay between the works of C.S. Lewis and Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik, and this summer will be staffing the Tikvah and Straus Center high school summer program. Gabi plans on pursuing rabbinic ordination and an MA in Jewish Philosophy at the Bernard Revel Graduate School, while also participating in the Straus Center Semikha Seminar.
