During the first week in June, the Counterpoint Israel team of 65 YU Students, Head Counselors, and Staff traveled to Camp Stone for a five day training retreat in preparation for the upcoming summer. The program strived to cultivate a cohesive group dynamic as well as prepare the team for the Counterpoint experience. The following letter was sent by one of the YU students to the Counterpoint Staff immediately following training:
I hope all is well.
I never got the chance to thank you as personally and as sincerely as I had intended to for the unbelievable orientation. It really was, as you had planned, a program in and of itself. The camp space made a significant difference in the general atmosphere and group dynamics, both because of the beautiful grounds and because it was a contained, removed area. The actual schedule was extremely impressive- tight, stressed the important aspects, and had no trivial loose ends. Each activity was educationally meaningful, fun, thought-provoking, and exceptionally well thought out. The goals were really reflected in the activities. It was clear that the group was amazed and appreciative of all of the careful planning and focus on the details.
I certainly feel much more prepared, informed, and- perhaps most importantly- pumped up for what’s in store!
Thank you very much for your incredible effort and time spent in making this orientation the start of what will, BeH, be an incredible summer.
We are very much looking forward to channeling the counselors’ positive energy from Counterpoint Training to the 300 campers in the Arad, Dimona, Beer Sheva, Kiryat Gat and Kiryat Malachi Counterpoint camps this summer. Go Team!
