Leadership at Central

At Central our student leaders are an essential part of the success of our co-curricular activities. From G.O. and grade reps, to club heads, team heads, and big sisters, Central offers many leadership opportunities for our students.   These leadership roles help students develop skills and memories that go beyond the halls of Central. This week these leaders were in the forefront as they were prepared for their roles.  This week there was a workshop for the big sisters with Rabbi Tani Prero that focused on leadership and mentoring skills. Rabbi Prero comes from Israel to run team building and leadership workshops around the country. Rabbi Prero played a variety of leadership games with the big sisters and spent time processing different skills they can learn from the games they played. They  discussed then discussed how they can best apply the skills they were learning to there day to day interaction with their freshman little sisters. The girls were extremely engaged, had a great time and learned a tremendous amount! In addition, this week we celebrated our student leaders at a luncheon where in addition to pizza, our student leaders were given the opportunity to reflect on what their goals and responsibilities would be for the coming school year.  Student leaders were also introduced to Miriam Bursky-Tammam, a Central alumni who will be acting as the  cultural arts faculty advisor. We can't wait to see our leaders rise to their roles this year.
