Malvina Halberstam Participates in Lawfare Conference

Malvina Halberstam, professor of law at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law participated in a conference on "Lawfare: The Use of Law as a Weapon of War" held at the New York County Bar Association on March 11, 2010 where she presented her paper, Requiring Miranda Warnings for the Christmas Day Bomber and Other Terrorists. The conference examined lawfare tactics as they are used to silence and punish free speech, delegitimize democratic nations such as the United States and Israel, and frustrate the war on terrorism. The conference, co-sponsored by the New York County Bar Association and the Lawfare Project, was organized by Brooke Goldstein, director of the Lawfare Project and a Cardozo alumna.
