New York City native Dr. Tamar Avnet, associate professor of marketing at Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms School of Business, was recently invited to serve a one-year term on the Editorial Review Board of the Journal of Consumer Research.


The invitation was based on her stature in the field, the high level of citation her research has received and her prior reviewing history. “I feel this appointment serves as a validation of my accomplishments in the field,” said Avnet. “This journal is the best academic consumer behavior journal in the USA and it is an honor for me to serve on its board. It also puts the name of Yeshiva University among the best research universities in the world.”


Previously, Avnet was an assistant professor of marketing at the University of Toronto. She earned her PhD from Columbia University. Her work has been published in top marketing and psychology journals. Avnet was recently promoted from assistant professor to associate professor with tenure at Sy Syms.
