A book published in honor of Peninnah Schram, professor of speech at Stern College for Women, has been selected as a finalist for a 2012 National Jewish Book Award by the Jewish Book Council.

The book, Mitzvah Stories: Seeds for Inspiration and Learning, is one of three finalists in the Education and Jewish Identity category. The anthology collects memoirs, folktales, midrosh, teaching tales and legends to illuminate 45 mitzvah-centered life practices and includes a forward by YU President Richard M. Joel.
