MillerMatt64174F-85-1Dr. Matthew Miller, assistant professor of English at YU’s Stern College for Women, contributed an article to a recently published anthology of critical writings on the poetry of Hayden Carruth. Titled "A Love Supreme: Jazz and the Poetry of Hayden Carruth," Miller’s essay discusses the connection between the genre of music that became popular in America in the early 20th century and Carruth's work. It is featured in From Sorrow's Well: The Poetry of Hayden Carruth (University of Michigan Press 2013), edited by Shaun T. Griffin. Miller was also interviewed by National Public Radio about his recent book, Collage of Myself: Walt Whitman and the Making of Leaves of Grass (University of Nebraska Press 2010). Excerpts from the interview will be used in a forthcoming edition of NPR’s nationally-syndicated program Studio 360.
