Book Featuring Essays by YU Faculty Wins National Jewish Book Award

kaddish womens voicesA book featuring essays by Yeshiva University faculty, including Dr. Rachel Mesch, associate professor of French and chair of the department of foreign languages and cultures at Yeshiva College, and Dr. Chaya Rosenfeld Gorsetman, clinical associate professor of education and co-chair of the education department at Stern College for Women, received a National Jewish Book Award from the Jewish Book Council. Titled Kaddish: Women's Voicesthe book was granted the Myra H. Kraft Memorial Award in the Contemporary Jewish Life Practice category and explores what the recitation of kaddish has meant to women by sharing the diverse perspectives and viewpoints of contributors. In addition, Gorsetman co-authored a book, Educating in the Divine Image: Gender Issues in Orthodox Jewish Day Schoolswhich won the In Memory of Dorothy Kripke National Jewish Book Award in the Education and Jewish Identity category.
