Holz_66186C-37Dr. Marina Holz, associate professor of biology, recently published an article in  The American Journal of Respiratory Cell and Molecular Biology. Titled “The combination of rapamycin and resveratrol causes apoptosis and reduces growth of TSC2-deficient xenograft tumors,” the study investigates a potential treatment for Lympangeioleiomyomatosis (LAM) and similar diseases. Her coauthors include recent Stern College for Women alumna Naomi Schwartz and her post-doctoral fellow, Dr. Anya Alayev. Holz presented this paper at the 2015  Lymphangioleiomyomatosis International Research Conference, where she was awarded the Francis G. Byrnes Platform Presentation Award.
