Department of Energy Renews Frenkel’s Grant

The United States Department of Energy has renewed a grant to Dr. Anatoly Frenkel, professor of physics, for three additional years of study of nanoparticles. Frenkel will receive $480,000 for three years as he investigates the structure and properties of metal nanoparticles using synchrotron techniques, electron microscopy and first principle simulations, together with other principal investigators from University of Illinois and the University of Washington, for a total of $1.5 million. He will include a post-doc and undergraduate students in his research.
