jesse itzkowitzDr. Jesse Itzkowitz,¬†assistant professor of marketing at Yeshiva University’s Sy Syms School of Business, will publish an article in an upcoming issue of the Journal of Behavioral Finance.

Titled “Name-Based Behavioral Biases: Are Expert Investors Immune?”, the paper¬†examines differences in trading between novice individual investors and institutional investors, building on Itzkowitz’s prior research, which showed that novice investors were influenced by name-based heuristics, including alphabetical ordering, when making trades, which led to irrational decisions. In this article, Itzkowitz and his co-author and wife, Jennifer Itzkowitz, demonstrate that compared to novice investors, experts are relatively immune to those influences.
