Bleich and Jacobson Publish Book on Jewish Law and Contemporary Issues

Rabbi Dr. J. David Bleich, professor of Talmud at YU’s Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary and the Herbert and Florence Tenzer Professor of Jewish Law at its Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, and Dr. Arthur J. Jacobson, Max Freund Professor of Litigation and Advocacy, have recently coauthored Jewish Law and Contemporary Issues (Cambridge University Press, September 2015). The book is organized as a series of authoritative discussions and examines topics from divorce to war and from rabbinic confidentiality to cloning.

In each case, it carefully delineates the issues presented, shows the various positions taken by rabbinic scholars, clarifies areas of divergence and analyzes reasons for disagreement.
