Levine Delivers Lectures to Queens, Teaneck, and YU Communities

MichelleLevineDr. Michelle Levine, associate professor of Bible at Stern College for Women, recently delivered a number of lectures in various forums at Yeshiva University as well as community-wide. At the end of October, Levine spoke at Congregation Etz Chaim, Kew Gardens Hills, for their monthly series on the Book of Judges on the topic, "Devorah, Prophetess, Judge, and Savior: A Feminine Leader Ahead of Her Times." She also spoke at Stern College for the Mishmar program, in memory of her rav, Rav Reuven Aberman, on the topic, "The Potency of Prayer: Our Matriarch Sarah in Abimelech's Palace." Additionally, she spoke at the beginning of November for Midreshet Yom Rishon on "Ramban's Commentary on the Song of the Sea: The Poetic Artistry of Biblical Song." Levine has also begun her 16th year of teaching a weekly adult education class in Kew Gardens Hills; the topic for this year is "The Symbolism of Clothing in the Bible." This fall, she is also teaching a weekly class for the adult education institute Lamdeinu at Congregation Beth Aaron, Teaneck, New Jersey, on the Book of Isaiah.
