Cohen_520x468Dr. Zafrira Lidovsky Cohen, a professor of Hebrew and director of Hebrew language and literature at Stern College for Women, recently published an essay in Women in Judaism: A Multidisciplinary Journal. Titled “The Non-Chosen Body: Poetics and Politics in Alona Kimhi’s Lily La Tigresse,” the essay appears in the November 2015 issue.

The study examines the bodies of key fictional characters from the center and margins of contemporary Israeli society as portrayed by author Alona Kimhi in her novel, Lily La Tigresse, and analyzes their political implications.
