Ladin Promotes to Publish Two Books

Ladin_JoyThis summer, Dr. Joy Ladin, David and Ruth Gottesman Professor of English and director of the Beren Writing Center at Stern College for Women, completed The Soul of the Stranger: Reading God and Torah from a Transgender Perspective, forthcoming from Brandeis University Press in Fall 2018, and of The Future is Trying to Tell Us Something: New and Selected Poems, forthcoming from Sheep Meadow Press in December. Her essay “Diving into the Wreck: Trans and Anti-Trans Feminism” was published by Eoagh. She also gave talks at Temple Sinai in Washington, D.C., where she was the Pride Shabbat speaker; at the Interfaith Alliance in Manacqua, Wisconsin; at the Jewish Federation, Jewish Family & Career Services, Congregation Beth Haverim and MaCoM (a non-denominational mikveh) in Atlanta, Georgia; and at the Emmett O’Neal Library in Birmingham, Alabama.
