Sharon Poczter, chair of the entrepreneurship and strategy department at Sy Syms School of Business, has been named strategic advisor to hospitality start-up Domio. The tech-driven company renovates properties then manages them as upscale short-term rentals on behalf of owners, doing maintenance and booking guests. It currently operates in New York, New York; Boston, Massachusetts; New Orleans, Louisiana; San Diego, California; Nashville, Tennessee; and Hawaii.

Working with Domio has advantages over companies such as Airbnb for owners because they will “have the best tenants they will ever have; rent is paid upfront, on time; longer-term leases are signed, [and the company] completely manages the property as opposed to having to manage guests themselves,” explained Poczter.

Poczter’s role at the young company will be helping to “advise on any and all matters related to their strategic vision and articulating this vision externally.”
