By popular request, the Honors Program went to the New York Philharmonic for our first cultural outing of the semester on Thursday evening, September 22nd for a performance by violinist Lisa Batiashvili, who was Musical America’s 2015 Instrumentalist of the Year and is this season’s artist-in-residence with Amsterdam’s Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.  Batiashvili performed Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto and Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, From the New World.  Students enjoyed this wonderful evening of music at Lincoln Center and we are all looking forward to more events like this.
