Libraries Update: February 15, 2019

  • Hedi Steinberg Library on the Beren Campus has been awarded a grant from Assemblywoman Nily Rozic through DASNY (Dormitory Authority of the State of New York) for a dedicated research instruction facility and collaborative spaces.  Existing space will be re-purposed to create a flexible learning studio for library and information literacy instruction.  The project will create additional group study rooms and a compact digital media lab.  A further goal is to consolidate the reference and reserves desks in the North Library Building at 253 Lexington Avenue to provide a unified and welcoming service point.  The work is scheduled for the summer of 2019.
  • Don't miss the next Library Book Talk on Sunday, February 24, 2019 in conjunction with the Seforim Sale: Ephraim Kanarfogel on Rabbi Joseph B. Soloveitchik.
  • For Sy Syms School of Business faculty members:  ABI/Inform and Factiva from Dow Jones are strong resources for your students.  Factiva can track industry development and offers up to five group alerts on companies, trends, and regional events.  The ABI/Inform databases provide up-to-date data on business conditions and trends, management techniques, corporate strategies, and competitive landscapes.  Schedule a session with one of our librarian-instructors so that your students become skilled users of these two important business intelligence tools.
