Career Month Kicks Off; Mr. Mark Newman Speaks to Juniors

by Ari Brown ('14) This past Monday, the junior class had the pleasure of being addressed by Mr. Mark Newman, a Supervising Revenue Officer at the US Treasury's IRS Brooklyn office. This was the first of a series of lectures to be given by parents as part of career month. Mr. Newman joined the IRS after seeing an ad in a newspaper; his job involves collecting taxes that have not been paid by April 15th. He told us that the most important thing when working is to do something important to you. Mr. Newman explained that if you don't enjoy your job, no matter how smart you are, you won't do well. It was a very interesting lecture and we thank Mr. Newman for taking time out of his busy schedule to speak to us.
