This past Monday night, the Lions traveled to Brooklyn for their final match against the Magen David Yeshivah (MDY) Warriors. Previously, the Lions beat the Warriors in OT and they were looking for an easier victory this time around. The Lions stormed out of the gates firing several shots on net and putting a lot of pressure on the MDY goalkeeper. With a bunch of early goals and some stellar saves by keeper Yoni Schechter (’15), the Lions headed into halftime up 7-0. The second half started the same way with all of the Lions contributing on offense and defense. Zev Markowitz (’15) picked up his third hat-trick of the season, Yitzy Richter (’17) picked up the first goal of his career, and Yoni Schechter picked up his first shutout. The Lions ended up winning by mercy rule 9-0, continuing their undefeated season. MTA will face off against SAR after Pesach in arguably their biggest game of their season.
