Congratulations to MTA's Semifinalists and Commended Students in the National Merit Scholarship Program

e26416ad-173f-473f-9465-75f5d70f7880 The National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists from across the country in the 61st annual National Merit Scholarship Program. MTA is proud to note that two of our students are among these Semifinalists: Yishai Eisenberg and Tsahi Halyo. These academically talented high school seniors have an opportunity to continue in the competition for some 7,400 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $32 million that will be offered next spring. To be considered for a Merit Scholarship® award, Semifinalists must fulfill several requirements to advance to the Finalist level of the competition. About 90 percent of the Semifinalists are expected to attain Finalist standing, and about half of the Finalists will win a National Merit Scholarship, earning the Merit Scholar® title. The MTA family is also proud to note that CJ Glicksman, Yair Gross, Aryeh Hagler and Michael Kolber have been named as Commended Students in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2016 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, Commended Students placed among the top five percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®). Mazel Tov and continued success to all of our students!
