JV Softball Update

by Akiva Richman ('19) The MTA Lions JV Softball team picked up a big win over the SAR Sting this past Monday. The Lions took a commanding lead in the very first inning by scoring four runs, the first two coming thanks to Coby Sorotzkin's ('19) 2-run homer. Then, in the third inning, Chaim Weinstein ('18) hit a grand-slam, his second of the season. In the fifth inning, Daniel Landa ('19) hit a solo home run, giving him two home runs this season, as MTA pulled away for the win. The Lions could not have won, though, without their amazing pitching and defense. Meir Uretsky ('18) pitched the whole game for MTA, giving up only 2 runs. With amazing defensive plays by Eitan Warburg ('19), Gabe Isaacs ('18), Coby Sorotzkin, Meir Uretsky, and Eitan Pfieffer ('19), MTA robbed SAR of multiple hits to help secure the win. With this win over SAR, the Lions finished their season at 4-2, securing a spot in the playoffs. This is the first time in several years that the MTA Lions JV Softball team has been in the playoffs, and the Lions are hoping to bring home the championship!
