MTA LEAD Kicks Off

72ff7233-0973-4158-a2ec-bea85ffb67df On Tuesday during lunch, Associate Dean of YU's Sy Syms School of Business Michael Strauss stopped by to kick off the MTA LEAD Business & Entrepreneurship program. MTA LEAD, a partnership between MTA and the Syms School was inaugurated a few years ago and provides an incredibly unique, hands-on learning experience for students interested in entrepreneurship. Dean Strauss, who had a very successful career in the private sector before coming to Yeshiva, discussed the program - from the professor led workshops, opportunity to participate in lectures with top business executives, mentorship from Syms students and, ultimately a business plan pitch to the "sharks" - as well as what it takes to start a business. Ideas come in all shapes and sizes and don't necessarily need to be innovative; while the vast majority of startups fail, one can learn from mistakes and the ones that do succeed require an immense amount of work and passion. Students interested in participating have through December to apply to the program online.
