In what proved to be a very close game, the MTA Lions Varsity Hockey Team took on the Hillel Heat at MTA. The Lions came out of the gates firing, and within two minutes Yitzy Weiss (’17) scored the first goal, putting MTA up 1-0. Later in the first period Hillel tied it up by taking advantage of a loose ball in front of the net. The second period remained uneventful, aside from the deafening chanting coming from the Lion’s bench. In the third period, however, Gabe Isaacs (’18) put not one, but two balls in the back of the net to put the Lions ahead 3-1. MTA maintained their lead until the final buzzer sounded. For the second straight game, The Lions have defended their home gym. They look to continue their winning ways against SAR on Monday.
