After starting off the season with 2 tough losses, MTA came out swinging on Tuesday night against SAR determined to get their first victory. Led by strong performances from #1 Singles Josh Zyskind (’17) and #3 Singles Gabe Isaacs (’18), MTA gained an early 2 matches to 1 advantage. Needing one of their doubles teams to win to claim victory, #2 Doubles team Chanina Rothenberg (’17) and Yedidya Schechter (’19), with expert placement and smart shot-making, dispatched their opponents 10-5 in tightly-contested games. #1 Doubles team Ezra Wildes (’17) and Dani Lobel (’19) also grinded out an impressive 11-9 win cementing MTA’s victory 4-1. Coach Eli Gewirtz (’07) praised his players after the match saying “I cannot have been more proud of the way we played tonight. SAR is a very tough team so this win shows how far we have come as a team.”
