by Yitzy Richter (’17)

On Wednesday night, the culminating event of the year long “Names, Not Numbers” program took place. The survivors and their families joined with the interviewers and their families in a beautiful dinner, in which the documentary that was produced over the course of the year was screened. In addition to remarks by Rabbi Kahn and Mrs. Rosenberg, Zachary Steiner (’17), whose grandmother and grandfather were both interviewed as part of this year’s project, eloquently shared the impact the program made on his life. All those present were inspired by the strength conviction of the survivors, whose families thrive in Jewish communities around the world today because of them. Special thanks to Mrs. Tova Rosenberg, Rabbi Richter, Rabbi Taubes, Rabbi Kahn, and of course, the survivors – Mrs. Trudy Englander, Mrs. Claire Grunwald, Mr. Eric Mayer, Mrs. Marrianne Steiner, Mr. George Steiner, and Mrs, Freida Steinberg for a meaningful and inspiring year.
