This Tuesday, the MTA Debate Team journeyed to Ramaz to debate whether assault style rifles should be banned in the United States.  Prior to the debate, multiple team members presented on the topic to educate the entire team and help each member formulate their arguments.  As a result, the MTA Debate Team was prepared and ready to go and present their arguments at Ramaz.

The team was victorious and secured five awards, including First Place Team for Davi Hazan (‘19) and Rafi Saperstein (‘20) and Second Place Team for Noam Mayerfeld (‘19) and Binyamin Fox (‘21).  In addition, Davi won Second Place Speaker, Noam won Third Place Speaker, and Rafi won Fourth Place Speaker. For every award won, Ramaz donated $18 to Smile Train, a nonprofit organization that provides free corrective surgery for children around the world with cleft lips and palates.
