BMK Talmidim Experience Amazing Shiur Shabbaton

By: Netanel Tager (‘19) Rabbi Tani Cohen's Beis Medrash Katan talmidim enjoyed their Shabbaton last Shabbos, Parshas Vayeira, at Rabbi Cohen's home In Bergenfield.  The Shabbaton included lively seudos, zmiros, divrei Torah, learning sedarim, a Tisch with Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Taubes, and an incredibly moving musical Melave Malka and kumsitz.  Talmidim truly enjoyed bonding with each other and their rebbe. Thank you to Rabbi and Rebbitzen Cohen for opening their home and providing this incredible experience, and thank you to the Tager and Warburg families for hosting lunch and Shalosh Seudos respectively.  The Julius Wrubel Beis Medrash Katan program is designed to provide Seniors with an exceptionally intensive learning experience, which will help them transition to the world of Beis Medrash learning in which they will continue to thrive post-high school. These talmidim are exposed to the very best of the traditional “yeshiva atmosphere” and study at a level not often made available to high school talmidim.  Seniors in the BMK learn in the Yeshiva University Beis Medrash, where they spend most of their mornings preparing for Shiur under Rabbi Cohen's guidance.  Rabbi Cohen delivers his advanced level Shiur following the morning iyun Seder, much like at YU and at leading yeshivos in Eretz Yisrael.  In addition, talmidim in the BMK program spend several nights a week learning at Night Seder, held in local community Batei Medrash. They also benefit from an extended Night Seder in YU’s Glueck Beis Medrash under the supervision of two shoalim u-meishivim, both members of the prestigious Kollel Elyon at RIETS.  These talmidim also dedicate a portion of their time to independent and group study of mikra and machshavah.
