On Motzei Shabbos, December 29th, the MTA Varsity Hockey Lions made the long trek down to Deal, NJ to face off against the Hillel Heat.  The game started off slow with neither team scoring within the opening minutes.  After penalties by both teams created a three on three, Daniel Landa (’19) shot and scored off a nice faceoff win by Ari Rosenberg (’19) to take a 1-0 lead.  Later on in the period, Daniel Landa scored off of a faceoff win by Yaron Kahan (’19).  With a few minutes left in the period, Hillel scored to cut the lead to 2-1 to end the period.  In the second period, Daniel Landa completed the hat trick and Aaron Borgen (‘20) scored off a rebound to take a 4-1 lead. Towards the end of the period, Hillel scored again, cutting into MTA’s lead and making the score 4-2.  In the third period, Daniel Landa scored his fourth goal, with two additional goals scored by Ari Rosenberg (’19) and Yosef Sullivan (’20).  Hillel scored 2 more goals and the final score was 7-4 MTA. Thanks to Andrew Cohen (’20), who stepped in as emergency goalie to help lead MTA to victory.  Click here to view photos.
