MTA Debate Team Wins Big At Annual Heschel Debate

By: Benny Mermel (‘19) The MTA Debate Team demonstrated their eloquence and prowess once again at the Annual Heschel Debate on Wednesday, March 6th, which included more than ten yeshiva high schools from the Greater New York City Area.  MTA won seven out of eight matches, which was a great follow-up to the team’s First Place School win at last month’s tournament at Yeshivah of Flatbush. Seniors on the team paired with Freshmen team members to debate the topic of public versus private prisons.  Several team members took home trophies, including Benny Mermel (‘19) Third Place Negative Speaker, Nadav Heller (‘19) and Eli Canter (‘22) Second Place Affirmative Speakers and Second Place Overall Team. We are so proud of our entire Debate Team and look forward to seeing their future successes.
