MTA Hosts Third Blood Drive Of The Year

By: Eli Fisher (‘20) Blood Drives are usually not inviting events.  The acrid metallic smell instantly brings a needle penetrating the skin to mind.  The dim whirring leads one to recall the sight of bags full of blood kept in constant motion.  However, this week’s MTA Blood Drive was such a warm environment that not only did a record number of students and alumni attend, but unaffiliated community members made an appearance in order to aid patients in need of blood.  With 168 lives positively affected in the midst of a blood crisis, this final Blood Drive of the year was a complete success for all involved. Thank you to the Arista Honors Society for organizing this meaningful initiative, as well as our new Blood Drive Coordinators, Juniors Eli Fisher, Ezra Nissel, and Matt Welgrin.  We are also grateful to the New York Blood Center for their continuous efforts to save lives.
